#Change4Change: I Need Your Help

It’s July 1st. Half of the year is gone.

I’ll be 41 years old in 6 days. Half of my life could be behind me (or I could live to be 100 and still bench pressing my body weight but just go with me for a minute).

I’ve just decided that being half way in anything is not enough.

I’ve had something on my heart for quite some time and when Facebook showed me I had already done it, that I had already sowed the seed, that my heart was already in it, that my destiny was to go forth and go bigger, well, I couldn’t ignore it.

Timehop is that powerful. So is time.

It is time.

It is no secret that I love what I do. It shouldn’t be secret, if you know me, that I’d do it for free, all day, every day, for anyone who wanted to help if I could. I’ve done it every time I’ve had the opportunity. Now I’m ready to create those opportunities. #Change4ChangeI have decided to start a non-profit that will provide fitness, health and wellness services to girls and women of all ages free of charge. This includes (but is not limited to) free personal training, free pop up boot camps and fitness classes, free workshops, free health coaching and scholarships for gym memberships, dance and gymnastic lessons and sports fees. My thought is if you WANT to do these things, money shouldn’t be the thing that stops you. Money kept me from way too many things and I just have too many resources to let it stop other people.

But I need your help.

The non profit process doesn’t work overnight (like it could take up to a year) and I need to get started immediately, like yesterday. While I am completing paperwork, creating by-laws, selecting board members, and purchasing domains, girls and women are feeling hopeless, clueless and are about to give up. Not on my watch.

Blog Fest 2015

I’m headed to the IDEA World Fitness Convention in less than two weeks. It is truly the Super Bowl of fitness and everyone you have ever wanted to meet is usually there (like Bob Harper from the Biggest Loser. That is still one of the best moments of my life but I digress).  Every piece of fitness equipment you’ve ever used or ever wanted to use is at that place….on sale…..and I would like to start purchasing things while I am there (and talk to companies about working with me on this project).

Would you be willing to send me some of your car charge to get this initiative started? I’m asking everyone who can to put a dollar in an envelope, today, and invest in someone’s health and wellness. I know people are suspect about donating a lot of money (any kind of money) without a tax write-off (again, the non-profit process is lengthy and I may not have a tax-ID number for a while) and GoFundMe takes 10% off the top of everything donated (and it’s so abused that people skip over it a lot when they see it) so one dollar isn’t a big deal to most of us.

Collectively though, just like this initiative, we have power.

I know. I know. You’re the “push the button on the computer type.” Here’s a link to my PayPal. Feel free to donate here.

In lieu of the Starbucks, Whole Foods and ITunes cards, the dinners, cake and cute shirts I am often blessed with on my birthday, please consider this instead. Help me celebrate my life by helping me do what gives me life.

I thank you, in advance, for the lives you are changing with your change.

It’s half time for 2016. What are you going to do to play the second half of your game better, for you and those around you?

I’m in, AND you’ve inspired me to get started with the non-profit that’s been in my heart [and vision board]. Thank you for being an example of what it means to live fully. Love you!
