I’ve been a personal trainer for over a decade. If there is ANYTHING I know for sure it is my clients function best when it’s simple.
Wanting to change is easier than actually changing. Helping clients through this process can be a slippery slope. As a trainer/coach, you are often times going on what they did or did not remember to write down (if they are the writing type. I started before the days of there being an app for everything), what they “chose” to write or write down or you have to spend time fumbling through the five hundred apps they are using to keep track of their food, sleep, water, running, exercise and steps. Good grief.
And then there was Nudge Coach.
I was given the opportunity to try Nudge Coach as a trainer through my ambassadorship through FitFluential. It was easy enough. My clients could download the completely free Nudge app (IOS and android), input my coach code and we could be connected. Our connection shows me their sleep habits, their exercise, their water intake, the macronutrients they chose to track, their number of steps daily (you can connect multiple apps to Nudge Coach like your FitBit so that it automatically syncs) and things like that. Of course, it only shows me what they track (there is STILL effort required on the clients’ part). However, it ranks them according to their activity which then gives me a quick view of who I need to connect with, (“Hey, Mary. Is everything o.k.? I noticed you are only getting three hours of sleep a night.” Or “Hey, Jane. I see you’ve increased your water intake over the past week! That’s awesome!) which I can do DIRECTLY from the app.
Because of my excitement, I did two things:
1) I sent my link to several of my friends who just needed a little accountability and I offered to coach them.
2) I became my own client. It has helped me TREMENDOUSLY in holding myself accountable.
This app is awesome!
I will tell you, for the people who WANT to be held accountable, this is, by far, the EASIEST, most useful app out there. From a personal trainer standpoint, I love the fact that I can see an entire picture of what’s going on with my clients and help them holistically, not just ask them to do more push-ups. The app tells me if they haven’t logged on in a while. It will notify me when I open it up that “these people” may need my attention. I think it will be SUPER helpful when I go back to doing my online coaching groups.
While the app is free for your clients (ALL of them), there is a small monthly fee for trainers/coaches. However, to have access to all of this information at your fingertips is priceless. Instead of chasing a million paper trails, I can pull up Nudge Coach and see exactly what’s going on, quickly, and then address it. It’s training and coaching, more personally, on another level.
