I wish I had the words to explain how I feel about this woman. I also wish that conversation we had via Facebook one day had happened earlier. The girl I had only really known as the “Jada the Cheerleader” was basically me. It made me happy and it broke my heart. I thank God for second chances.
For lack of a better term, Jada is the BOMB DOT COM. Not just because she is beautiful, not just because she is an occupational therapist, runner, yoga teacher, massage therapist, holistic health coach, doula, breast feeding advocate (you have seen her on this billboard while driving through Tennessee, right?)
and now a blogger and director of Blossom Health and Maternal Wellness on top of being a mother and wife, but because she has a spirit that just doesn’t quit. She just doesn’t. She can’t. It’s not in her.
Jada and I both entered Tennessee State University in the fall of 1993. While we had different social circles and different majors, we’d come to cross paths because I was dating a guy on the cheerleading team and the coach was my sorority sister. Of course when I saw her on Facebook, like most of us, we connected. But one day, we had a REAL conversation, a heart to heart, a no holds barred, tell the truth conversation and I’ve been a fan ever since. Because of Jada, I tried Bikram Yoga. 😊 My handstands aren’t like hers but, well, she’s Jada.
Jada, my healthy eating, healthy thinking, hand standing sister, I love you and I have the utmost respect for you. Welcome to the 40 club! I can’t wait to see what you do next!!!
