@MammaChia Energy Drink Review and Giveaway!

LoveLouise_UATasha-1472“Don’t let me get in my zone! Don’t let me get in my zone!” I was screaming from the top of my lungs for six, seven, eight weeks because I hit a groove. I wasn’t all that tired. I was working out extra. I was eating well, drinking my water, keeping my stress to minimum and rocking life. And then, then I realized my children had been on vacation and so had some of my clients. My classes had been cut in half because of all of the holidays. I was sleeping late, not eating on the go as much and taking hot yoga in the middle of the day if I wanted.

And then…..January game. Down I went. Too much coffee, not enough sleep, in over my head with obligations, an excessive amount of stress, no desire to drink water (it was cold!) and I didn’t want to take not ONE MORE supplement! Then I remembered those bottles in the refrigerator. They were from Mamma Chia.

Back in December, Mamma Chia had sent me a complementary package of their new chia based energy drink to check out. I didn’t need to drink them. I was “in my zone.” But one afternoon, as I was almost crawling my way out of the door to Piloxing, I was looking for ANYTHING to help me make it through class (I was actually hoping I’d open up the refrigerator and another Piloxing teacher would jump out, take pity on me and offer to teach my class). I grabbed the Cherry Charge flavor and headed out the door. If you know anything about chia seeds, you really can’t “chug” it. I finished the last little bit up as I was walking into the gym. Real talk: it was one of the best classes I’ve taught in a long time. I wasn’t jittery. I wasn’t over the top. I had a sustainable energy. And that’s what I needed.

mamma chiaMamma Chia new organic clean Energy Drink is pretty cool. It’s actually the first beverage that combines chia and guayusa (yeah, I said the same thing but it is found in the leaves of the holly tree native to the Amazon Rainforest in Ecuador.  It provides EXACTLY what I felt: a balanced and sustained energy with the jitters and crash.  Thank God.  It’s a smooth and clean caffeine.  But, let’s just keep it real.  I may still have me a latte or two every now and then). Mamma Chia Clean Energy Drink is 120 calories full of good stuff: more than an entire DAY’s worth of Omega 3’s, six grams of fiber, four grams of complete protein, twice the antioxidants of a cup of green tea and it has calcium, magnesium, some iron and other powerful antixoxidants.  It has about as much caffeine in it as an eight ounce cup of coffee.

The drinks retail at about $2.99 (they’ve recently been on sale at Whole Foods, Kroger and Earth Fare, I believe, so if you’re near one of those stores, I would check them out and come in four flavors: Blackberry Blast, Cherry Charge, Raspberry Razz and Grape Power. (The drinks are also, like all other Mamma Chia products, Non-GMO verified, gluten free, vegan, kosher and USDA certified organic). I’m having a hard time deciding which one is my favorite.

Mamma Chia has been gracious enough to offer one of my readers an AWESOME prize pack (retail value:$45) that includes:

  • One week supply of Clean Energy beverages
  • One week supply of Chia Squeezes (I LOVE these things!)
  • Mamma Chia Camelbak water bottle
