See those———–? Yeah, my computer is old so I don’t have the symbol I need to direct your attention to exhibit A with the intensity in ave which I need for you to feel this moment? This picture is dark but I want to you to look closely underneath my nephew’s airplane. Looks like he is landing on a mountain. Yes, that. Those would be my 42DDD breasts. At 22 years old.
I don’t want anyone to believe I have been running around like an ironing board my entire life. I DO understand the PAIN (yes, I meant to put that in caps and bold) of carrying around the extra weight on the front of my body. I had so much pain that, at the age of 23, I had a medically necessary breast reduction. How is it deemed medically necessary? Well, when your insurance company is willing to pay for it instead of paying for all of the other problems you are consistently having because of it (neck pain, back pain, lack of desire to exercise because of the uncomfortableness, rashes, etc.) then it’s necessary.
I had large breasts even as a teenager. I was the girl in dance class who had to wear straps when the majority of the other girls could wear tube tops. So while I understand and feel the pain of the girls in the gym with similar problems, I don’t envy you. Girls who want to have them put on their bodies, be careful what you ask for. 🙂
Being small does have its perks. Sometimes I can get away with wearing just a tank to bed or just wearing the tank with the bra in it to yoga. However, as we get older and our bodies start to change, we need support. And because I do more than sleep and yoga and I AM getting older, I have a wide selection of sports bra that I use for every activity. I have found out over the span of my fitness career that one sports bra just isn’t going to cut it. (Wow, have I expanded from the days of only being able to afford one.) But sports bras are a NECESSARY expense. And you need to know which one is the right one for YOU and for the activities you enjoy.
My friends (and I don’t just say that in a cheesy way. These are some of the coolest, most down to earth, informative people I have ever met) at Under Armour have really opened my eyes to the world of sports bras. The technology is so cool and different and having the inside info has really helped me make informed decisions about which ones I like best. They sent me some bras to try out and ooooooh!!! Let me just say I have the best job in the world. And if my six pack was completely solid, this blog post would be completely full of me in every Under Armour sports bra I own. But I’ll spare you. 🙂
When I wake up in the morning, I have to think about what sports bra to put on, according to how my day is going to go. Am I strictly yoga today? Am I going to to Zumba? Piloxing? Weight training? I took the Under Armour sports bra quiz (look to the right in the column to take the quiz) and found out what bra was right for me based on my activity AND my size! (Did you know UA is making sports bras according to your cup and band size, not just small, medium and large? I looooooovvvvveeeee that!)
I rotate between the seamless essential (looove for yoga), the heat gear (can’t wait to get the new colors) and my absolute FAVORITE.. the Armour Bra. Now, the Armour Bra is built for running and high-intensity training but, well, have you ever been to my Zumba class? 🙂 I honestly just like the extra support and lift (ALWAYS good) and I just really like the way it feels. I do wear my heat gear for Zumba and Piloxing all the time but I am just emotionally attached to my Armour Bra.
And because there is nothing like support, I want to support you in getting support! 🙂 Enter below to win your own Under Armour sports bra! Take the quiz on the right for your activity and tell me below what type of bra you would like to win out of the ones suggested for you! Contest will end at midnight on Saturday, September 21st. The winner will be chosen later on that day. If you don’t want to wait and you want to buy one of these awesome bras NOW (and I TOTALLY understand), click the pic that says “Under Armour Ambassador” on the right and it will take you right to the Under Armour website!
Disclaimer: Under Armour did sent me these bras for my review. All opinions are honest and my own.
