Don’t Talk About It, Be/Bet About It!

Oh, it is SO ON!!!!

So, in my every day life, I am not competitive.
Back in the day, though, I played a mean game of double dutch, pool, dominoes and craps. (Don’t judge me.  I haven’t always been saved.)
I have deemed 2013 a new era for me.  I have to find ways to elevate everything that I am doing.  My fitness/weight loss is no exception.Toward the end of the year, I hired my own trainer but, honestly, things haven’t been the best.  I’ll spare you the details but I know I could do more.  I’m going to do more.  It’s now or never.

I am putting my money where my mouth, chips and salsa, french fries, carrot cake and dark chocolate almonds are.  I made a bet. With a bunch of people.  In public.  4% of my body weight in 4 weeks.  That’s crazy.  I’m crazy.  But constantly doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result is SUPER CRAZY!!!!!

Diet Bet is a really cool way to lose weight that lets you hook up with your friends through social media (if you so choose.  You don’t have to be on social media to participate) and cheer each other on and compete (because, let’s face it, some of us just do better when there is money or the possibility of beating other people involved).  The “pot” grows as more players join and whoever loses their 4% at the end of the 4 weeks split the pot.  There are ways to keep people honest with their weigh-ins (no, you CANNOT just post a number in a box and press “enter” and who would want to cheat THEMSELVES anyway?)  I am participating in the Fit Fluential January Diet Bet and I would LOVE for you to join me! The entry fee is $25.00.  The initial weigh-in is THIS SATURDAY, January 19th.  We start on January 21st.  The weigh-out is February 18th.

Now, it’s January and you are already on your weight loss grind, right?  Why not REALLY go there?  I don’t know about you but I have ALREADY started thinking about what else I could do with $25.00 and I don’t need to lose it because I didn’t handle my business.  🙂  I have also made an ever bigger commitment.

I have chosen to donate my winnings to the Miles Blackwell Foundation.  If you have read my blog for any period of time then you know that Miles was very special to me and so are his parents and sister and the foundation.  You can choose to donate your winnings (because who plays to lose?) to the charity of your choice.  How sweet is that?

And, because I always go overboard (please, no comments there. *smile*), anyone of my readers/friends who signs up for the bet will be able to join a free support group I will be hosting on Facebook.  Just shoot me a message (because we are all friends on Facebook, right?) and I will add you.  This is FREE.  We ARE going to succeed.  TOGETHER.

Alright, Team, Let’s Go!!!!! Let’s get the pot up to 5 digits!!!!  🙂

Oh, I bet you want to know who won the socks, right? 🙂

Congratulations, Jennifer R.!!!!
